A beautiful new release for JfL Hats. Click into my post for full details.
There is just something about a girl in a hat. She may be an ordinary girl with doubts about herself, but when she puts on a hat, she changes. Whether it is a beret, a wide-brimmed sun hat or a fedora, when she places it carefully atop her head something magical happens. It is as if a prince has crowned her with a tiara. She is more confident, whimsical and proud. She transforms from a wallflower to the belle of the ball. All eyes turn to her as she enters a room, a lovely centrepiece to be admired.
She is simply perfection, this girl in the hat.

Check out this awesome pose prop from Kuro in motion for Pose Fair and the fabulous new hat from JfL!
Sometimes I try to complicate things too much. I was so excited by the Shattered… pose and mirror prop from Kuro in motion for Pose Fair that I wanted to do a really special photo using it. I initially tried setting up a scene to shoot the photo, but after I did the image for the mirror, I couldn’t get the placement right. I tried again, and the mirror was too big and I couldn’t get it to look good with a smaller version. Plus, I’m lousy at geometry so I couldn’t get the angle right…or acute or obtuse, for that matter.
So, in the end I cleared out the furniture and other props and went with a plain background. I think that is the best decision because I wanted to highlight the hat I am wearing from JfL Hats and a simple setting doesn’t detract from it.

It is my late entry for the Monday Meme and a very special top available from Purple Moon to benefit anti-bullying. Click into the full post for the details.
Before I get on to this week’s Monday Meme (yeah, I know I’m late!) I just wanted to mention that today is Pink Shirt Day and I am wearing mine proudly! Although you can’t really see what the shirt says in these photos the intent is to show support against bullying. Poulet Koenkamp of Purple Moon has this shirt – and a guy’s version – at her store for a minimum donation of 10L. You may, of course, pay more and all proceeds are going to CKNW Orphans’ Fund in support of Boys & Girls Clubs Anti-Bullying programs. The shirts are transfer, so you can pick up a few to pass along to others. Big thanks to my lil Cao for bringing this to my attention. You can read more about it on her blog.
Now, on to the meme! It is all about books, which I think were…

It’s true – in Second Life you can dress for any season!
Don’t get me wrong – I like winter. I like it better than summer, especially now that I live in Australia. But when you live on the opposite side of the world from the majority of SL content creators, it can cause a bit of a seasonal confusion.
As we are well into spring and heading into summer here in the Antipodes, I find myself suffering the same problem I have every year I have resided in SL. As I am in the mood for springy colours and summery sundresses and shorts, SL is either adorned in autumn hues or wintery sweaters and mittens. It does cause me a bit of consternation. It is probably silly, but I get overheated looking at my avatar dressed in woolens when it is a sweltering 35 degrees C (95 degrees F) outside!
I finally made it in to Collabor88 yesterday, and while I…

Who says women can’t wear men’s hats? Especially in a special edition of pink!
Strolling through the park, heading for the shopping district (of course) is the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Sun streaming against my shoulders, birds singing, the breeze playing through the leaves and the soft scent of the flowers makes for a very pleasant outing.
The hat is a special edition just released by Johnfrancis Laville. It is such a lovely shade of pink that I think this one is more for the ladies than the men (although there is no reason the guys can’t wear pink!) Click the link in the credits to try it on for yourself.
You can’t go wrong with a little shopping spree while wearing a pink hat 😉
