1 Moroccan Delights

I have been a bit remiss about blogging the gorgeous items for this month’s offerings from The Challenge. I love the items for this round, themed “Moroccan.” The rich textures and jewel tones give a punch to any setting. But I have had difficulty capturing their glorious beauty.

I think I finally hit on a setting that shows off the lovely furniture from Shabby Tabby within the confines of the [hate this] gazebo. This is no mirage; this little refuge from the desert heat can be yours.

Stop by the Shabby Tabby and [hate this] stores to create your own desert sanctuary, or just add a pop of colour to any home.

Pretty stuff I’m showing off:

*Build: [hate this] [ht:home] moroccan gazebo (no materials) by Corvus Szpiegel (for The Challenge May 2014)
*Sofa: Shabby Tabby – *Shabby* Marrakesh Sofa by Rosemaery Lorefield (for The Challenge May 2014)

1 Collage Feb_016 TD

It’s the 23rd and that means that The Collage is open again for the next two weeks! You may recall that I went a little crazy over this event and especially my new favourite shabby chic store, Thaino Designs at the last round. This month, Thaihiti Baroque, the designer of Thaino Designs so very kindly offered me her items to blog. I admit I SQUEEEEEEEE’d! a bit. (OK, a LOT!)

Everything available is in the photo above. The main theme is owls and of course, shabby chic florals and colours. I really can’t decide which is my favourite item. Thankfully, I don’t have to 😉

I actually left a lot of these items set up in the back garden at my show room. It makes it a very inviting spot to just sit back and relax, or even take some pictures. Anyone is welcome to do so – I’ll even…

1 Spargel & Shine Annie 1

As I mentioned yesterday, I have more to show you from my visit to The Collage. I know, I know, I’ve been showing enough beds lately to open my own hotel, but I just couldn’t resist this one from Spargel & Shine! It, along with the matching dresser just had my Shabby Chic senses tingling with delight.

You see, both the bed and the dresser come “naked.” But with a click of a few buttons on their menus you can dress them up in all sorts of ways. The bed can be unmade (just the mattress showing) or you can have the patchwork quilt messy (including a messy version for sleeping under), or you can have it made – with or without the tea service tray showing. There are several options to choose from and I had fun playing with it for various looks. Important note: make…

Shabby Chic Heaven

It’s Home & Garden Heaven at The Collage!

Pics by Peep

1 The Collage crop

Anyone who has visited my home in Second Life knows that I have a major love affair going on with Shabby Chic. While I can appreciate the sleek lines of Modern design or the museum-quality of the Victorian style, for instance, Shabby Chic just speaks to me as what a home should be: warm, comfortable and inviting. Muted tones, deep, squishy cushions, lots of pretty tchotchkes, begging to be touched…yes, this is my home-heaven.

This month’s theme at The Collage is obviously inspired by the upcoming Valentine’s Day and that is the perfect holiday to inspire Shabby Chic creations. I guess it comes as no surprise that every piece of furniture and knick-knack in my photo came from The Collage then, does it? So yes, I went a little nuts picking up my S/C treasures…and I’m not going to apologise!

The furniture set comes from Sway’s, a long-established favourite…

1 Organica Nemo S

While I spent yesterday morning relaxing, today started completely differently. When you have changed the sheets, done two loads of laundry, bathed your pigeon-pooped-on cat, cleaned the fridge, bathroom and laundry room, taken out the trash and gotten groceries all before noon, I think one is entitled to spend the late afternoon lounging around reading. The fact that it is on a waterborne bed makes it all the sweeter.

Pretty stuff I’m showing off:
