The Seraphim Social is open! Grab a towel and runnnnn!
There is an art, it says, or rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.
~ Douglas Adams, “The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy”
Although I love books and have read some sci-fi, I can’t say I am a big science fiction fan. But I do love the “Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy” series by Douglas Adams. So when that was chosen as the theme for this month’s Seraphim Social I was looking forward to the creations the designers came up with for this theme.
I wasn’t disappointed. I am highlighting the Orbit series of poses from an lar [poses] in this post, along with some other fun stuff. It also fits in nicely with The Inventory Alphabet challenge, since today is the day for the Big O.

It is my late entry for the Monday Meme and a very special top available from Purple Moon to benefit anti-bullying. Click into the full post for the details.
Before I get on to this week’s Monday Meme (yeah, I know I’m late!) I just wanted to mention that today is Pink Shirt Day and I am wearing mine proudly! Although you can’t really see what the shirt says in these photos the intent is to show support against bullying. Poulet Koenkamp of Purple Moon has this shirt – and a guy’s version – at her store for a minimum donation of 10L. You may, of course, pay more and all proceeds are going to CKNW Orphans’ Fund in support of Boys & Girls Clubs Anti-Bullying programs. The shirts are transfer, so you can pick up a few to pass along to others. Big thanks to my lil Cao for bringing this to my attention. You can read more about it on her blog.
Now, on to the meme! It is all about books, which I think were…

Others may argue that some events are a waste of time because they don’t include the best designers and are simply a way for the organisers to make a profit from the upcoming creators by collecting entry fees then not promoting the event to generate sales.
Many events have fallen by the wayside after not achieving enough interest – or cash – to continue. I find most of the events I attend by scoping out Seraphim, the self-titled “premier Second Life sales and event blog”. I admit that I have an affiliation with…

There are some beautiful items at The Seraphim Social, including this stunning jewelry set by Cae. Run – do not walk – to this event. It only lasts until Feb. 28th!
So, I’m stretching the pronunciation a bit to make the pun for my title work, but like our little Bumblebee friend, I do love a good (or bad) pun! Almost as much as I love this necklace and earrings from Cae for The Seraphim Social. Going along with the Pride and Prejudice theme, this set is called “Pemberley”. For those of you who haven’t read the book, Pemberley is the name of Mr Darcy’s estate. But more importantly, Mr Darcy eventually wins the key to Elizabeth’s heart and they do live happily ever after – presumably at Pemberley.
This is a stunning set and I haven’t taken it off since I got it, which means I have been wearing low-cut tops and up-dos to show them off. I can only be thankful it is summer where I live; I’m not sure my cleavage and ears could withstand the polar…
